Game of Thrones was one of the biggest TV shows of the 21st century, and its slate of accolades and tributes is a testament to that. However, after its prequel House of the Dragon‘s recent disappointing run at the Emmys 2023, it has cast a shadow of doubt over the franchise.
Despite holding the record for the most number of Emmy wins, the franchise surprisingly has no female actors in its Emmy win tally.
No female actor from the franchise has won an Emmy Award yet
Considering the number of female characters in the Game of Thrones universe, it is surprising that none of them have won an Emmy Award yet. Emilia Clarke had 4 nominations, Lena Headey had 5, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner both had one each, and many more, but not a single won could win an Emmy.
The only cast member to ever win was Peter Dinklage, who was responsible for eight out of the show’s 32 acting nominations, with four wins. In House of the Dragon’s case, the situation is even worse – not a single actor was nominated for this year’s Emmy Award.
Fans are furious over towards Game of Thrones actresses not winning any Emmys
House of the Dragon fans had a lot of expectations this year, that the franchise might finally break its curse. However, even with strong female characters like Emma D’Arcy’s Rhaenyra Targaryen, the wait continues. Some of the fans took to X and said:
