While Game of Thrones has been gone for a long time, us fans have been spending time investing ourselves in theories and predictions. Season 6 began airing over a year ago, and Season 7 is about 50 days away from now, with premiere set for July 16th. HBO has been doing a great job at working up to the Season 7 premiere, and they started with the EW unveil of Season 7 pictures, followed by the trailer, both of which really hyped the season up. While we have a lot to talk about from all the official material released, there is one thing that seems be catching the most attention : Drogon. Daenerys‘ biggest dragon has grown a lot since the last season, and a new video now takes a detailed look at exactly how much. Read on!
As we hadpreviously reported, the size of Daenerys’ dragons has been a subject that has been recently touched upon. One of the four directors for Season 7, Matt Shakman, had revealed that the dragons will be the size of Boeing 747s, and Drogon will be the biggest, with its flame being 30 feet in diameter. The video, uploaded on YouTube channelBridge4takes various elements from already available material to approximate the size of Drogon. Watch it below :
The video relies a lot on comparison of Drogon and his size to Balerion, which is the biggest dragon to have ever lived in the Game of Thrones universe, and was one of the three great dragons of Aegon I Targaryen. It lived up to be 220 years old, and died a natural death.
We probably won’t get to see Drogon as big as Balerion, because dragons never stop growing, and Drogon is very far from the age of 220. However, it still it growing pretty fast, and if not as big as Balerion, we’ll at least get to see it get, just generally, quite huge.
So how do you think Drogon’s size is going to affect the battles next season? Will fire win over the ice of Winter? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
