At the end of the latest Game Of Thrones episode, Eastwatch, Jon Snow and team headed beyond the Wall to capture a Wight, so that they can take it all the way to King’s Landing to prove that White Walkers do exist. The episode ended with them leaving Eastwatch, but HBO dropped an interesting piece of information in the preview for the next episode, Beyond the Wall and it might give us some answers about the White Walkers in the coming episodes. Take a look at the preview of the 6th episode below:
We can see in the video that the Hound and Thoros of Myr are near the mountain that the Hound saw in the vision in the fire during the first episode of this season. The Hound talked about a mountain beyond the Wall, that looked like an arrowhead.
“Ice, a wall of ice. The Wall. It’s where the Wall meets the sea. There’s a castle there. There’s a mountain, looks like an arrowhead. The dead are marching past, thousands of them.”
However, the interesting part isn’t that they have reached the place where the White Walkers are, but the fact that we have already seen this Mountain in the 6th season and it’s location has played an important role so far in the series. Reddit user RKRagan pointed out that we have seen the same mountain during the flashback scene in which the Children of the Forest created the White Walkers!
So, it’s interesting to know that the White Walkers are somewhere closer to the place where they were created and Jon and friends are going in the same direction! Also, the location where the Walkers were created has a Weirwood tree and we can see the spiral symbol around it.
The White Walkers have been using the symbols used by the Children of the Forest throughout the series but we still don’t know the meaning of any of the symbols. In the previous episode, we saw the same symbols inside the Dragonglass cave at Dragonstone and it seems that the show is finally going to give us more information about the origins of the White Walkers and also the meaning of those mysterious symbols in the coming episodes.
Now, Jon Snow and company are heading towards the same place, and it is going to be a deadly mission and we can expect deaths of some major characters as Beric tells Jon, “Death is the enemy — the first enemy and the last. The enemy always wins. And we still need to fight him.”
What are your thoughts about the location of the Mountain that has been shown in the preview for the next episode? Will we get to see more information about the White Walkers and the Children of the Forest in the remining 2 episodes of this season? Let us know in the comments below.
