Game of Thrones is a very popular show, and it has faced its share of problems because of the same. The show is the most pirated show on the planet, and we have seen entire scripts and episodes getting leaked prematurely. The leaks went a bit too far in Season 7, and HBO has been vigilant since then, so that it does not happen again. In a new interview, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays the role of Jaime Lannister on the show, talked about how HBO will not be giving the scripts to the cast this time. Read on!
Coster-Waldau was recently on the Scandinavian talk show, Skavlan, and talked about the security measures that HBO is taking up make sure there are no leaks, reports Belfast Telegraph. Apparently, the cast will not be getting the scripts this time, but will rather hear the lines through earpieces, on set. Nikolaj explained how the security has evolved over the years. He said :
“It’s very secret now. I don’t know if you heard but there was a big hack.
The first season we got the scripts like you should get them and then you could sit and do notes and stuff. And then after a couple of years they got paranoid because there was some leaks so we had to get them only digital, on a PDF file.
And then that got a little worse so they had to do these verified emails. You had to go through all these things to get your script and it was watermarked all kinds of ways, so if you lost it you would be sent to prison.”
He went on to say :
“And then the hack happened, so now we’re not even going to get the script. Now we are going to do a scene, we will be told what’s going to happen and then we roll.
We’re all going to have earpieces for the scene and then someone’s going to tell you the line and then your going to do the line.”
So looks like the hackers won’t have it as easy as usual. What do you think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
