Game of Thrones has made its way into popular culture, in a way that is not quite like many other TV series. It is rather rare, and we think that a major reason for the show being what it is that it has a strong cast, and its cameo game is impeccable. Game of Thrones season 7 seems like will have more than just its own share of cameos. We had previously reported that New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard, and singer/musicianEd Sheeran have been confirmed to make cameo appearances in Season 7, with vague rumors about cameos by the rock band Bastille, and UFC star Conor McGregor. Now, we have news about yet another Season 7 cameo, this time byMastodon guitarist Brent Hinds, who will be playing a Wildling.
Hinds confirmed the news while talking on the The Jasta Show podcast, hosted by Hatebreed singer Jamey Jasta. Hinds said :
“I just came back from my second cameo Game of Thrones. This time, I had my broken leg and they were like, ‘You’re doing the best zombie walk, we want you to come right towards the camera. I want you to drag this axe behind you.’ I’m like a reborn, come-to-life Wildling turning into a White Walker.”
This is the second time Brent Hinds will appear on Game of Thrones. He has played a Wildling on the show before, back in Season 5, where he appeared along with his band-mates. Mastodon also wrote a song for the Game of Thrones mixtape, Catch the Throne Vol. 2., titled “White Walker.” ShowrunnerDan Weiss is also said to be a huge Mastodon fan.
If you don’t remember the Mastodon cameo, check out the picture with Hinds and Bill Kelliher, the other guitarist from Mastodon, in their Season 5 cameo costumes:
Game of Thrones will return with Season 7, and a big load of cameos, on July 16.
