Game of Thrones Season 8 is currently filming, and while the show tries to wrap up, it is still taking as much time as it wants. The show will be back in 2019, and we have been bringing you the latest set updates. Until now, we have had news about the filming in one of the main locations the show has relied on, over the years : Belfast, Northern Ireland. Now, however, we have a tip-off about the filming returning to the Dubrovnik, Croatia, one last time. Read on!
Now, as you might know already, Dubrovnik has stood in for King’s Landing quite often. However, this time we have the giant set being used, in the Titanic Studios lot at Belfast, that has been pegged to represent King’s Landing, but apparently the capital city will have quite a focus. Not only is the production expected to return to Spain for filming the Dragonpit scenes, but a new report now says the production will be back in Dubrovnik as well. The report by The Dubrovnik Times has a confirmation on this.
The report says the filming in the city is likely to occur in February, which is around the time filming is supposed to be in Iceland as well. No other details are known, except that the showrunners have been previously spotted in Dubrovnik, scouting locations. Since the game will probably shift to King’s Landing for a while as the stress on the filming locations for the same is suggesting, we might see almost all of the cast in Croatia when the filming begins.
So, excited? We’ll be updating you with the cast spottings and other relevant info as we hear of it. Talk to us in the comments, down below!
