The latest Game of Thrones episode, Blood of my Blood surprised and shocked the fans as we finally saw Benjen Stark making a comeback after many years. The last time we saw him was in Game of Thrones season 1 episode 3. Now that’s a really long time and fans were happy to see Benjen Stark again.
In season 1, Benjen Stark had gone on a ranging mission to the North of the Wall and since then he was missing, presumably dead. Benjen was a First Ranger of the Night’s Watch and he was highly capable ranger. He had gone North of the Wall to check if there was any truth about the reports of the White Walkers but there were no reports of him for a long time and after some months his horse returned to the Wall alone.
After the last episode, Bran Stark and Meera Reed were in deep trouble as they were on their own with neither Summer nor Hodor there to protect them. Just as their chances of survival looked bleak, Benjen Stark appeared and rescued them from the Wights. Later Benjen revealed to them what happened after he went North of the Wall and even that part of the story had the fans excited.
It seems that the showrunners have finally introduced Coldhands in the show, just that they have done it by merging Coldhands with Benjen Stark. Benjen Stark revealed that he was stabbed by the White Walkers with their ice sword and thanks to the Children of the Forest, he was saved.
