Game of Thrones season 6 ended with an explosive finale, leaving us with a giant gaping hole in our lives to fill until season 7 graces our television screens. However, we’ve got a few tidbits of news here and there that help us get through the long wait for next season, which will be aired later than usual anyway. With this big space of nothingness, we have a glimmer of hope in the form of the San Diego Comic Con where the stars of Game of Thrones appeared at a panel to discuss the show and help the fans with their withdrawal symptoms. So without further ado, let’s look at something cool that happened at the panel this year. The stars from our favourite HBO fantasy drama talked about many things related to Game of Thrones, but the highlight of it was their opinion on who should sit on the Iron Throne and rule the Seven Kingdoms.
Most of the stars had interesting responses, and some went with what fans agree to. Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, interestingly, said that she’d see Petyr Baelish ruling the Seven Kingdoms.
She was followed by Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos, and he said that the only clue we have is what George R.R Martin suggested about the end, which will be ‘bittersweet’, so according to that, Cunningham thinks that the Night’s King will eventually sit on the Throne “with a leg thrown over the side, smoking a big cigar.”
As a loyal friend that he is, John Bradley, who plays Samwell Tarly, revealed that he’d like to see Jon Snow on the Throne in the end.
Missandei, played by Nathalie Emmanuel, also went with the loyalty towards her friend and Queen Daenerys Targaryen.
Conleth Hill, who plays Lord Varys dismissed the question and said that he knows who will rule the Seven Kingdoms so he can’t really say.
Faye Marsay, who played the Waif, said that she’d like to see the fan favourite Arya Stark sitting on the Iron Throne.
Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) had an interesting reply. He said that he’d like to see Jon on the throne, with Sansa advising, Arya kicking ass, and Bran doing his three-eyed raven thing. We think this is something a lot of fans would be in favour of.
Our beloved Hodor, played by Kristian Nairn, said that he’d want Brienne of Tarth since he didn’t think that the Iron Throne would be worth much after the invasion of the White Walkers.
The most interesting reply of all was given by Iwan Rheon, the actor who played Ramsay Bolton. He was of the opinion that they melt down the Iron Throne and have a democracy instead.
Which star do you agree with? Tell us in the comments.
