Game of Thrones is having a great season, and it is pressing all the right buttons. Season 7 aims to set the tone for the end of the show, and it has been doing it really well, while getting consistently high ratings. However, despite this success, HBO is having a tough time, with all the leaks that are happening. If the massive leak which supposedly leaked out 1.5 TB of sensitive data from HBO’s private archives was not enough, Season 7 episodes have been leaking, too. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays the role of Jaime Lannister, has the solution to these leaks, he recently said in an interview. Read on!
Speaking on EW Morning Live, Entertainment Weekly’s Radio show, Nikolaj addressed the leak. He said it was ironic, because HBO was being extra careful this year :
“The irony, of course, is last year was crazy. We had to set up all these email accounts. They had to be triple and quadruple [checked]. All this stuff, right? And, of course, now they have this big hack!”
He continued :
“And then we get a call [saying] ‘They have all your information. And we’re not sure what’s going to happen’ What do you mean you don’t know what’s going to happen? ‘Well, we don’t know what’s going to happen but they have everything.’ Okay, great.”
Nikolaj said that there was a way to stop the leaks from happening :
“I think they’re basically going to go back to hand-delivering and just giving us scripts. Just give us the hard copies instead of all this email and digital stuff. I think that’s what’s going to happen in a few years’ time, because you know, you talk to cops on the street, ‘What’s the biggest crime now?’ It’s all credit card fraud. It’s all that stuff. It’s digital. So we got to go back to cash.”
Makes sense, actually. What do you think? Could this work in stopping the leaks? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
