Game of Thrones season 6 has left many of us fans with an existential crisis, and a lot of people are waiting for season 7 as if their lives depended on it. Now that we’ve seen all of the epic things that have gone down in the season 6 finale, we’re all just counting the days until Game of Thrones graces our screens again. But there is bad news for fans, because Winter might have arrived at last on the show, but the show runners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss say that they require a proper winter setting to film the next season, which is difficult seeing the weather conditions at the moment.
Game of Thrones seasons usually premieres in April, with the exception of season 3, which had premiered in March. The showrunners revealed that this time the season premiere might be delayed as they have to push back filming as winter is yet to come at the locations where filming is done. This will make things worse for fans as it is almost confirmed that season 7 will have only 7 episodes.
The show runners revealed on theUFC Unfilteredpodcast that the show will air later than usual.“We don’t have an air date yet, but this year will likely be a bit later,” they said.“We’re starting a bit later because, you know, the end of this season, winter is here, and that means sunny weather doesn’t serve our purposes anymore, so we pushed back everything down the line to get some grim, grey weather, even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”
Turns out Winter isn’t so close for us after all.
