Game of Thrones has been around for a long time, and we have seen the kind of production quality the show has. It is without doubt, one of the best looking shows we have ever seen. However there was a tiny hitch: the show debuted in a time when full HD was the standard, and thus for all these years, we didn’t get to watch it in 4K Ultra HD. Not anymore. Like we had recently reported, Game of Thrones is getting a 4K HDR Blu-ray re-release, and Season 1 is now available. Read on!
Now, if you watch a lot of TV and movies, you know that the next jump is 4K, and HDR – which enhances the colorspace, in addition to the resolution bump 4K gives. If you have an 4K HDR capable display, you will now be able to watch Game of Thrones clearer, and with more colour. Check out the release trailer below:
We watched that on a 4K HDR display, and can confirm that there’s a noticeable difference which should be worth your while, in case you’re planning an upgrade to your collection.
