Game of Thrones is the most popular show on the planet, and it has lived through the era of the decline of DVD and the rise of Blu-Ray. While most of us have watched the show in Blu-Ray quality, which is full HD, also known as 1080p, some of us have been disappointed that the show isn’t available in even higher quality. Looks like our prayers have been heard! Game of Thrones is going 4K Ultra HD, starting with Season 1, coming this summer. Read on!
HBO has just announced that Game of Thrones Season 1 is coming to a 4K Ultra HD disc. The content will be Dolby Vision High Dynamic Range optimized, as well as come in the 4K resolution, so you can now enjoy Game of Thrones on your 4K HDR TV. The disc is set to release on June 5th, with Digital Download available as always. Watch Ned Stark get beheaded in the highest quality possible, now!
The set will have quite a few bonus features. However the promo says the bonus feature will be in HD, which means it will be normal HD and not 4K Ultra HD. The list is as follows:
