Warning! This article contains spoilers from the latest episode. Please turn back, if you haven’t yet watched the episode. The latest Game Of Thrones episode opened with Jon Snow and Ser Davos landing at Dragonstone and to be honest I was really surprised to see the episode opening with Jon at Dragonstone. The showrunners are making sure that as the end of the series approaches, all the unnecessary scenes are kept aside and we get to see only the things that matter the most.
In the latest episode, The Queen’s Justice, we finally got to see Ice finally meeting Fire and we also had Melisandre referring to it while telling Lord Varys that she is the one who brought Ice and Fire together. The fans have been eagerly waiting for Daenerys Targaryen to meet Jon Snow but they didn’t have the friendly first encounter that many fans were hoping to see. We saw Jon landing at Dragonstone and after having a friendly conversation with Tyrion Lannister, Jon found out that Daenerys doesn’t trust him much as Missandei made sure that everyone handed over their weapons before they could proceed and the Dothraki even took away their boat, ensuring that Jon can’t leave Dragonstone without Daenerys’ permission, literally making him, her prisoner.
Jon met Daenerys in her throne room there was a light moment when Missandei introduced Daenerys with her never ending titles and Ser Davos and Jon looked at each other, surprised at what they just heard and Davos responded by introducing Jon as the King in the North. It was funny to see that the show has referred to the long list of Daenerys’ titles, which are usually the target of many memes and jokes.
Daenerys started talking by reminding Jon Snow that his ancestor, Torrhen Stark bent the knee and accepted Aegon Targaryen as his king and she expected Jon to do the same, but Jon was adamant that he wouldn’t betray the trust the Northerners had put in him and when he refused to bend the knee, Daenerys was surprised. To make things worse, when Jon referred to everyone as children who are squabbling amongst each other, Daenerys was offended. However, Jon stood his ground and made sure that everyone realized that the main enemy was North of the Wall and they should address that instead of focusing on Cersei.
However, there didn’t seem to be any agreement between them and Daenerys made it clear that by declaring himself the King in the North, Jon was in open rebellion as she’s the rightful Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Lord Varys then arrived with the news of the defeat of her allies and thus the first meeting between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen ended but not on a happy note.
The third episode, “The Queen’s Justice” was an exciting episode, with many major things happening in it. What was your favourite moment from the episode? Let us know in the comments below.
