Game of Thrones has not only great actors, but great sets and great visual effects. The Dragons have always been a major draw for the show, and they have been wonderfully portrayed. We’ve seen the fiery trio grow bigger in size every year, and it seems like we’ll see them get much bigger in the next season. One of the four directors for Season 7, Matt Shakman, revealed this information, in an interview withEntertainment Weekly.
Apparently, the dragons will be the size of Boeing 747s, which are some of the biggest planes in the world. Shakman said :
“The dragons this year are the size of 747s. Drogon is the biggest of the bunch — his flame is 30-feet in diameter!”
Matt Shakman will be one of the four directors that HBO has picked for Season 7, with the other three beingAlan Taylor, Jeremy Podeswa, and Mark Mylod. Talking about the plane, the Boeing 747 is 230 feet in length, and 210 feet in width, or more accurately wingspan. Here’s a picture :
So, yes. It will be like a gigantic fire-breathing plane with a mind of its own. As of now, we have no official information on how different the dragons will be from earlier seasons, other than this information about the size. We’re hoping we’ll get to see some official footage of the dragons going nuts, in the form of a trailer. Season 7 will be exciting, especially because the Dragons will have a lot more work this time around, since they’re making their way to new land, and will probably face winter, and White Walkers, too. Not to forget the massive potential scare that the showrunners gave us while speaking at SXSW.
Game of Thrones will return with the Season 7 on July 16. What do you think the giant Dragons are going to do this season? Tell us in the comments, below!
