Game of Thrones fans have not forgiven the show for not having introduced Lady Stoneheart on the show, who is the zombified version of Catelyn Stark, and since this fan-favourite character from the books did not make it to the show, fans made it their job to get someone else to replace her. The new theory was that Catelyn’s son Robb Stark would replace Lady Stoneheart as the reanimated self of his corpse post his death at the Red Wedding so he can avenge the honour of the Stark family. But theories aren’t very uncommon, and neither is the fact that they get snubbed quite often. Actor Richard Madden, who played Robb Stark, had something to say about this theory.
Madden says that his character’s return on Game of Thrones is highly unlikely, proving that this theory might not see the light of day. He was asked during an interview with The Hollywood Reporterif the showrunners David Benioff and D.B Weiss are planning to bring Robb back to the show. Madden says he isn’t even sure he wants to return if it were the case.
Here’s what he said:
“I’ve not heard anything, of course. I suppose I wouldn’t have the phone call, because they’re very secretive about everything. I feel very, very proud to have been a part of that. But Robb Stark had such a great storyline, three seasons where he had this great start, middle and end to his character, and it set up such a great purpose to the show up to that point. Every character really progresses the show along. Now I can just watch it and enjoy it.”
“I don’t know, I’d have to read…”he continued. “I stopped reading the books a couple years ago because the show kept changing and I’d much rather just watch it and see what came next.”
If anything, this does put another viral theory to rest so that fans can concentrate on another one which might not come true either.
