Game of Thrones has a ton of great stars, and they have been a part of many a big projects over the years. The latest news is that the actress that played The Waif on Game of Thrones, Faye Marsay, is all set to play an abuse survivor in a new Channel 4 drama! Read on!
The news was announced by Channel 4 Factual in a press release. Titled Shamed, the drama will star Faye Marsae as a 27-year-old woman called Sarah Ivy. Read the official synopsis, below :
“Sarah is a cool, calm twenty seven year old, but ten years ago a life changing incident occurred and her world collapsed around her…
“Now with the help of James, her brother, she manages to kidnap two men. The first is Nathan Bowyar, played by Nick Blood (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Babylon) who is looking forward to his stag do and wedding day, but before he makes it to either of them he is seized and taken to an unknown location.”
“The second is Mani Yalla, who joins Nathan in Sarah’s man made prison cell. Neither of them believes they know Sarah, or what she would want with them, but Sarah knows. What happened to her? What has led her to this? And how will Nathan and Mani escape?
As the plot progresses the connection between Nathan, Mani and Sarah reveals itself, and the role the media has played in their lives becomes clear, it has been used to shame each one of them.”
Other cast members include Nick Blood (Nathan), Mark Quarterly (James), Ryan McKen (Mani), and Tanya Fear (Julia). Anthony Philipson will write and direct, Rachel Wardlow will produce and Colin Barr is on board as an executive producer.
