Game of Thrones has been our favourite show for a decade now, and when the final season of the show dropped, everybody was anxious. The ending of the show ended up getting a lot of criticism for a variety of reasons, and Game of Thrones now finds its ending among some of the most controversial TV series wraps. Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) however recently revealed that she had a different take on the backlash. Read on!
As we know, the cast of Game of Thrones recently reunited at the 2019 Emmy Awards, and there were a lot of great moments. The show took the Drama series Emmy, but Emilia didn’t win the lead. Speaking to Variety in a red carpet bit, however, she gave her opinion on the Season 8 backlash. She said:
“You know what? It was profoundly flattering is what it was because when someone cares that much that they’re ready to make such a noise about how they believe the characters should’ve been finished and how the story should’ve gone. That’s just enormously flattering. That just shows how much everybody loved it.”
She continued to talk about the cast and how relieved they are to have finished the show:
“We’ve had enough space now since filming, since it coming out, since the premiere, and all of that stuff. It’s been all of these different stages. Now, here we are and it feels like everyone’s had some time to cool down a little bit.”
She continued:
“I honestly don’t think that you would have a crew or a cast alive to do another couple seasons. We put our absolute heart and soul, blood, sweat, and tears, muscle, brain energy, everything into this and I feel like everybody’s families are like ‘thank God, you’re done. We can get everyone back.’”
Well, Emilia does seem to have taken the high road with all the Season 8 criticism. What do you guys think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
