According to a report fromMetro UKthe makers of Game of Thrones have spilled the beans on receiving bribes from someone of the most famous A-listers. Names not revealed for obvious reasons. Each season has had cameos from big stars which include band members of Sigur Ros, Coldplay, Snow Patrol.
The show makers have immense faith in the young talents on the show like Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and the list goes on and on. Most of them having no prior experience whatsoever. The show has maintained a balance between the young stars and the experienced ones, which include, Charles Dance, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Sean Bean, etc.
Carla Strange, the casting director of Game of Thrones had some mind-blowing stories to share. She narrates incidents where she has received eccentric “gifts” from stars and people to give them any part on the show.
“We get really strange things and letters and emails from people trying to get out attention. One person sent playing cards where every playing card has their face on it doing a different emotion. Really classy.”
When further enquired, she refused to name them. She added,‘Someone even sent me a Stormtrooper with a sticker of themselves on it. I’ve had people send Kit Kats. You get very random things in the post,”she frustratingly mentioned how she has to deal with this throughout the year.
The A-list stars directly approach the producers of the show and put them in a spot, the producers not knowing where to put the stars’ cameo it becomes an ardous task.
‘The stars generally go to the producers directly but then they have a hard time trying to figure out where to put them. There are only so many cameos that you can have!’ she laughed.
These are some of the Cameos from the previous seasons of the show:
Richard E Grant, Season 6, Episode 5 Dr Feelgood singer, Wilko Johnson, Season 1, as Ilyn Payne. Coldplay Drummer Will Champion plays a drummer in the Red Wedding.
