HBO might have made us wait a really long time for Game of Thrones Season 7, but there’s one thing the giant knows really well : how to build up the hype, and how to defuse it, really carefully, without giving away too much information. Now, we all know that Season 7 is set for a release date of July 16th, but we yet don’t have too many official details about the episodes, synopsis or lengths. However, HBO seems to be slowly unveiling the details of the episodes one by one, but only the lengths. They have just unveiled the length of the second episode of Season 7, and it seems like the episode will be the show’s longest second episode till date. Read on!
Now, last week we reported about HBO revealing the length of the first episode to be 59 minutes long, and HBO’s latest change to their official website now says that the second episode will be of the same length : 59 minutes. At just a minute shy of an hour, it’s a really healthy length for an episode. Check out the screenshot from the official HBO site, below :
A recent report by Entertainment Weekly had also talked about the episode lengths and said that the finale of Season 7 will clock-in over an hour. For comparison, below’s the list of run-times of second episodes of every season of Game of Thrones :
- Season 1 : 56 minutes
- Season 2 : 54 minutes
- Season 3 : 57 minutes
- Season 4 : 53 minutes
- Season 5 : 56 minutes
- Season 6 : 54 minutes
So, that’s that! The EW report did state that other than the finale, Season 7 episodes will be of a normal length, Now that the first two episodes have been revealed to have the same length of 59 minutes, we expect the rest four to clock in at about almost the same length. We will report the lengths as we hear of them. In the meantime, let’s be excited about the fact that we are getting a long(er) finale! Talk to us in the comments, down below!
