Game of Thrones Season 7 premiered Sunday after a long wait and the first episode, titled Dragonstone, managed to touch on almost all the character storylines. However one not so important thing caught everybody’s attention: Ed Sheeran‘s cameo. Now, it got mixed reactions from the fans, and Ed Sheeran deactivated his twitter right after the fan reactions rolled out, many of which weren’t quite pretty. Now, there had been speculations as to whether his sudden absence from twitter was related to his absence from Twitter. Ed has finally commented on the whole issue. Read on!
Ed Sheeran uploaded a picture to Instagram, his first after he deactivated his Twitter account. He provided some explanation in the caption. Check the picture out, below :
He explained :
“Last i’ll say on this. I came off Twitter Coz I was always intending to come off Twitter, had nothing to do with what people said about my game of thrones cameo, because I am in game of thrones, why the hell would I worry what people thought about that. It’s clearly fuckin’ awesome. Timing was just a coincidence, but believe what you want. “
He did reactivate his Twitter, but the bio now reads that he will not be using it anymore, but will use Instagram instead. It seems like he doesn’t quite care about the reaction to his cameo, which, in our opinions, wasn’t as bad as it was made out to be. It’s the internet, after all, overreaction is all around. We also heard director Jeremy Podeswa talk about how Ed’s cameo was great, and that the fans didn’t appreciate it mostly because they couldn’t see past his celebrity status. We, for once, liked his not-so-disturbing presence, and the nice little song he sang. What about you? What are your thoughts on the cameo? Tell us in the comments, down below!
