Game of Thrones is currently still filming for Season 7, with filming supposed to end by the end of this month. We already know that the show is filming later than its usual schedule this year, with filming being carried out in the same year as the premiere, for the first time ever. The show will premiere in summer of this year, and most big cast members are done filming already. Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos on the show, recently talked about Season 7 in an interview, and how a lot of characters will be coming together this time around. Read on!
Liam Cunningham talked to IGN while promoting the Game of Thrones Live Concert Tour Experience at Los Angeles, at a preview event. Talking about Season 7, he said :
“The progress of the show with the White Walkers and all that stuff, it’s pretty obvious nobody’s going to be able to take this force on on their own. So when we’ve had all these, for all these seasons, disparate stories come from disparate ends of Westeros, it has been – and it’s been signaled from the end of last season – that there’s a lot of people and situations going to be coming together. It was kind of interesting to meet some people who I normally only meet on a red carpet. Who that is and when that happens remains to be seen.”
Exciting, indeed. However, that wasn’t it. Liam Cunningham has apparently been hearing a lot of fan theories, too! While he did say that some of the theories are over the top, he said fans have figured out one of them right :
“For a couple of years I’ve been hearing a theory that I think may be right, but I don’t want to go into it because it might be a spoiler, but I think they’ve worked it out. It’ll become pretty obvious soon-ish. I have to be very delicate with all of this.
To listen to these theories for this season, you just have to try to keep your face straight, and sometimes it’s so ludicrous that I just burst out laughing.”
Cunningham also talked about Melisandre, and how he thinks that we will be seeing her again. He said :
“I would be very surprised if we don’t see her again. Knowing what that woman’s capable of, as with all the female characters on our show, you don’t take your eyes off them for second, because they’ll either poison you, stab you, burn you or whatever. What I love about the show is in a sense it’s a sort of medieval patriarchal society, but the most dangerous people in our show are the women. They are the chiefs! Look at where Cersei is now, Daenerys, Arya’s got her s–t together. The women are extraordinary, extraordinary, extraordinarily three-dimensional, as they should be.”
Indeed!
Well, we’ll see when the show returns this summer, and until then we will just wait to see if any more spoilers roll out before Season 7 does. What do you think? Talk to us in the comments, below!
