As most of you know by now, Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience is doing really well, and why wouldn’t it? The show has had amazing music over the years, and what can be a better way to honor that by making a concert out of it? Led by the music composer of the show, Ramin Djawadi, the concert has been having back to back shows, and we hear they’re getting better and better. One of the most haunting pieces from the show, which has obviously made it to the concert as well, is ‘The Rains of Castamere‘. You might remember it from the Red Wedding, and if you’re at the concert while it is playing, you’re likely to panic at least a little bit. At a show of the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience held in LA recently,Serj Tankian, the frontman of System of a Down, performed the song, and it was amazing.
The Game of Thrones Live Concert held at the Forum in Inglewood, California, had Serj Tankian come out and sing The Rains Of Castamere. While Serj’s version is quite a change from the one we’ve heard from The National, Serj seems to have captured the menace surrounding the song at least a bit better. Check it out, below :
The performance is accompanied by clips from the show, including one showing Tywin Lannister on a horse, entering the Great Hall on his horse. The crowd, as you can see in the video above, was clearly enjoying the performance, with the shrieks and cheers coming right from the beginning. To be fair, we would have probably been more excited, had we been present while the song was being performed.
