Game of Thrones is undoubtedly one of the biggest shows to film in the past decade both in terms of budget and viewership. Managing such a huge franchise is no joke. Even though the showrunners and the crew were careful and worked really hard to make the show near perfect, little accidents and goofs slipped through their clutches. Like the one time, a Starbucks cup was left on Winterfell set during filming. Sometimes things got more serious and resulted in clashes between the actors.
Entertainment Weekly Editor James Hibberd’s book Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon delves into such behind-the-set mysteries. Game of Thrones director Mark Mylod revealed one such fight in the book. The clash between Ian McShane (Brother Ray) and Rory McCann (Sandor Clegane) over a distasteful burger.
Mylod described Ian as a force of nature. He said, “He’s gone down in Game of Thrones crew folklore as being the person who most improved the catering. His lunch was brought up to him and he disliked his burger.”
“So he kicked it and it went flying, and had a few choice words of what he thought of the burger. The burger whacked into Rory, who was enjoying his burger and had no complaints.”
There is no mention of how Rory reacted over the flying burger. Although according to the co-creator, it was his ‘inner rage’ that landed him his role in the series in the first place. Mark went on to thank Ian, however, because after that incident the show got a new caterer.

The Iron Anniversary month is coming to an end. Fans relived their favourite moments from the fantasy epic during the Marathrone held during the celebrations. A decade of Game of Thrones brought back sweet memories from behind the screen, and several cast members were happy to share. One of the show’s extras, Andrew McClay, played a number of soldiers throughout the series. He shared firsthand accounts of various funny moments that happened on set, one of them involving actor Pilou Asbaek.
Pilou Asbaek is best known for playing Euron Greyjoy on Game of Thrones. McClay recalled a funny incident about him in an interview with the Irish Mirror, “There was another great moment when we arrived at the Linen Mill Studios in Down. We were shooting inside the studio on the boat. It was the big naval battle sequence between Yara, Theon and Euron. I arrive and see Pilou (Euron Greyjoy) standing up at the front of the boat and he’s screaming for about 30 seconds before we even hear the word ‘action!’
“We were all watching him and he’s just up there going crazy! Then when you see him walking around the studio in normal clothes, he’s still a wild man but he’s got a handshake and a smile for everyone. He’s just a man that loves having fun and he’s such a lovely guy.”

Game of Thrones was a beautiful and memorable experience for both the crew and the fans alike. For some, it was the best time of their lives. There are many behind-the-screen secrets that fans are unaware of. Some of them are really fun. Game of Thrones extras know a lot about them, however, there’s one who’s basically a Game of Thrones encyclopedia. Andrew McClay’s vast amount of knowledge rivals that of Varys and Littlefinger. And he has some of the most interesting stories to tell.
Andrew revealed lots of secrets to the Irish Mirror in a recent interview. He was thrilled to see Stephen Dillane (Stannis) and Ciaran Hinds (Mance Rayder) meticulously rehearsing a scene, getting things right to a tee. On one occasion, Iain Glen entertained a bunch of extras at Wolf Hill Quarry by shouting ‘Khaleessssssssi‘ at the top of his lungs.
He also revealed Rory McCann (The Hound) has a history of looking after chickens in real life as well. He was dumbfounded when Bella Ramsay (Lyanna Mormont) was the only actor to never stumble over her lines during the famous ‘King in the North’ scene.
Andrew McClay got to witness his favourite novel come to life, being a part of it. He considers himself one of the luckiest people who had the chance to live their dreams.

We’ve all had childhood heroes who we idolized and wanted to be like them. We know that Game of Thrones alum Sophie Turner is a big fan of Miley Cyrus’ TV show, Hannah Montana. She dubbed Joe ‘hubbs of the year’ when he gave her a Hannah Montana T-shirt as an early Christmas present in 2020. Now, her 8-month-old baby girl has been showered with love from none other than Hannah Montana herself.
On Wednesday, March 24, Miley Cyrus sent a bouquet from her pop star alter ego to Joe and his family in honour of the 15th anniversary of her Disney Channel show, Hannah Montana. Hidden in her handwritten card was a sneaky clue that sent fans into a wild frenzy.
Joe posted a picture of the star-shaped flower arrangement, with purple, yellow and pink blooms. He wrote, “HOLY HANNAH MONTANA!!! THANK YOU @mileycyrus WE LOVE IT! THIS IS EPIC!!”
Sophie added, “THANK U HANNAH WE [purple heart] U.”
However, Smilers zoomed in on the note that Miley had written for the couple. It appeared to read, “To: Joe & Sophie! It was so sweet of you to name your daughter after me! Sending all my love to little Miss Hannah Montana! Love, Hannah Montana.”
