HBO responds to Matt Smith’s claims about House of the Dragon Season 2
Matt Smith spoke regarding the release date of House of the Dragon Season 2 on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show in the UK, where he appeared to confirm that the second season of House of the Dragon would return to our screens later this year.
When asked about the release date of the show’s second season, Smith had straightforwardly said, “August, I think. This summer, yeah.”
TechRadar spoke to HBO for an official statement about Smith’s comments. In response, an HBO representative said they have nothing to announce regarding the release date for Season 2.
“We have nothing to announce about a debut date or month for season [two].”
We knew that House of the Dragon season 2 would come out in the Summer of 2024. Smith’s comments gave us a potential release window that was more specific than that.
However, HBO’s comment doesn’t mean Season 2 won’t drop in August 2024, but more likely that they’re not ready to announce a release date yet, so stay tuned.
