The latest Game Of Thrones episode was definitely a crowd pleaser, as we got to see a number of reunions. We also got to see Gendry finally making a comeback after many years. Eastwatch didn’t have anything that was as epic as the battle in the previous episode, but it did the work of setting up the story for the penultimate episode of season 7, which is definitely going to blow away our mind as HBO has released the trailer for the next episode, which still doesn’t have a name. Take a look at the trailer for the episode below:
The latest episode ended with Jon Snow and team heading North of the Wall to find and bring back with them a Wight, which can be used as a proof to show that the real enemy lies beyond the Wall and the preview for the 6th episode shows us some stunning scenes beyond the Wall, which have been filmed in Iceland. I had visited some of these filming locations in February this year and it truly feels like the lands beyond the Wall.
The trailer opens with Beric Dondarrion talking about death. He says, “Death is the enemy. The first enemy and the last. The enemy always wins. And we still need to fight him.” While he talks about death, we see Daenerys and Tyrion at Dragonstone and it seems that Daenerys isn’t happy to be waiting at Dragonstone, while Jon Snow is risking his life to bring back evidence.
In the latest episode we saw that Daenerys has developed feelings for Jon Snow and it might turn out, she might take one of her Dragon and fly North of the Wall to help Jon Snow. Also, Ser Jorah is also present with Jon Snow and she might want to make sure that both of them return safely. It does seem possible if you take a look at the screenshot from the 2nd trailer of Game Of Thrones season 7, which was released last month.
We can see a fire in the background and it is in a straight line, and we have seen Drogon doing something similar in the previous episode. We know that Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr like to set their swords on fire while fighting but it doesn’t seem that they have started the fire. This is just a speculation and we will find out whether if it’s true or not the next week.
The trailer also shows Jon noticing a large number of Wights charging towards him and we later see in the trailer that they are surrounded from all sides by the Wights and there’s no way for them to escape and they start fighting against the Wights. We also see Jon Snow fighting against a White Walker. Things are definitely looking bad for them and unless they receive help from someone (read: Daenerys), it seems that their chances of survival are really low.
Another interesting thing that we can see in the trailer is that we can see few men at Eastwatch trying to pass through the Wall, as the gate opens. It’s difficult to find out who these men are and why they are in such a hurry to go North of the Wall.
The trailer mainly focuses on the events that are going to happen beyond the Wall, ends with a close-up of the Night King, who seems to be walking towards Jon Snow. Considering that this is the penultimate episode and the White Walkers have surrounded everyone, there’s a high chance of some of the characters dying in the episode.
Apart from the exciting scenes beyond the Wall, the trailer also shows us few scenes involving Arya and Sansa and we have seen in the latest episode how Littlefinger has sowed the seeds of doubt in Arya’s mind. Arya already has some doubts about Sansa’s intentions and Littlefinger makes sure that the rift between them widens.
I have already watched the trailer for the next episode multiple times and I just can’t wait to see what transpires in the 6th episode of season 7. It’s sad that the season is almost over and I would’ve loved to see the usual 10 episodes. What are your thoughts about the upcoming episode? Is there anything that you noticed in the trailer? Do let us know your thoughts about it in the comments section.
