Emilia Clarke is unquestionably one of the most outstanding actors on Game of Thrones. The 36-year-old actress, best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen, will soon join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the upcoming series Secret Invasion. Reminiscing about her time as Khaleesi, the actress recently said that she wasn’t even permitted to adjust her posture.
How Emilia Clarke got her straight posture
Clarke explained to ComicBook.com in a recent interview, “People often spoke about Khaleesi’s very straight back being very good posture. I was a terrified 22-year-old. My mama told me to sit up straight, so I did. And then you’re stuck with it. I didn’t know I was going to go on for 10 years.”

Game of Thrones showrunners won’t let Emilia Clarke change her posture
Though Daenerys came to be synonymous with power and “good posture”, it can get tiring at times. When Clarke requested showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss if she could rest her back a bit, she remembered, “Every time with David and Dan I’d be like, ‘What if she’s sitting in a throne like this?’ And they’re like, ‘No, you can’t.’”
