Game of Thrones has a huge fandom behind it, and being a series based on a set of thick books, it is no stranger to fan theories. Now Season 7 is rolling out, and we are beyond the storyline of the books, and there are lot of things which have been needing explanation, but don’t have one yet. These kind of things are possibly going to show up as the show progresses now, and one particular fan theory now says that we will get one such big moment in the next episode, which will confirm a longstanding prophecy from the books. Read on!
The prophecy is famous among book readers, and it is about Daenerys Targaryen. Quaithe, a mysterious woman from Qarth, says it to Dany in the books, and redditor Novastrider says that we will see it being fulfilled next episode. Check his prediction, below :
Now, the prophecy by Quaithe says a lot of things, all of which this theory manages to cover. First of all, talking about needing to go south to be able to go to the north, according to the theory, is Daenerys going to Qarth, which is quite south, and back. Going to the east to be able to go west, is about how she assembled her loyal army in the east, so as to head to Westeros. Going back to go forward is about her returning to Dragonstone, her birthplace, in order to become the Queen of the seven kingdoms.
Quaithe also tells her to remember who she is, and then proceeds to say something which might hold the key to the prophecy unveiling itself :
“To touch the light you must pass beneath the shadow.”
..and she says that Daenerys will find the truth. The theory says that this points to a particular scene we saw in the Season 7 Episode 4 preview, where Jon Snow and Dany seem to be going below the castle to find Dragonglass :
The theory says that Daenerys will discover the ‘truth’ in this scene. So now what is left for us to see is what the truth is. Could it be that Daenerys realizes that she should focus on solving the White Walker problem before hitting King’s Landing, or the true parentage of Jon Snow, the man she’s now allies with? If this theory holds well, we will soon find out! What’s your take? Tell us in the comments, down below!
