HBO’s The Last of Us was a unique take on post-apocalyptic horror, focusing more on the humane side of the storyline rather than zombie-infused jumpscares. It elevated the viewing experience to a new level, and as a result, it has become one of the highest-grossing TV shows by HBO yet. And there’s a lot more to come in season 2, new horrors, new characters, and new storylines.
Neil Druckmann teases new Season 2 main character
The Last of Us co-showrunner and the video game’s creator Neil Druckmann recently teased a picture of an arm holding a hammer. Fans who are familiar with the game quickly realized who Druckmann is referring to; one of the most controversial characters in the entire series: Abby Anderson.

What can we expect from The Last of Us Season 2?
Showrunner Craig Mazin teased the reporters about what’s to come in Season 2, “Sometimes it will be different radically and sometimes it will be barely different at all, but it’s going to be different and it will be its own thing. It won’t be exactly like the game. It will be the show that Neil and I want to make. We are making it with Bella.”
Who is Abby Anderson?
Spoiler Alert: Abby can be described both as a protagonist and an antagonist, depending on your perspective, who starred in The Last of Us Part II. She is part of a militant group that formed after the fall of Fireflies following Joel’s brutal rampage. Her father was the doctor that Joel kills, the last person on earth who could’ve manufactured an antidote to the cordyceps infection. Abby’s only goal is to find Joel and get revenge.
