Some actors are so good at portraying a character that we end up thinking they’re born for this role. When you think of the character, that actor pops into your head first automatically. Pedro Pascal is one of the most successful actors in the entertainment industry currently. He has a number of memorable roles under his belt such as Game of Thrones’ charming Oberyn Martell and his new role of Joel in The Last of Us. Pascal recently revealed in an interview that he once almost forgot he got cast in the latter.
In the most recent episode of The Tonight Show, Pascal admitted to Jimmy Fallon that after his first call with The Last of Us creators, Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin, he took a sleeping pill and woke up remembering he is yet to get a confirmation for the role from the duo. He said:
“At that point, it’s really late. I’ve got to get up in the morning, [so] I take an Ambien. But I get a call, and I get told that I got the job after I took the Ambien. So I was excited, I guess, but I didn’t remember.”
He recalled what happened after waking up the next day, “The first thing that occurred to me was like, ‘Oh man, I really want that job. I’m in London. They’re in LA. I’m going to wait by the phone all day long. This hasn’t happened in a while. I’m going to be longing. I’m going to think about it all day long.’ When I looked at my phone … I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I got the job!’”
