Super Bowl happened this Sunday and hopes were high for something new from Game of Thrones Season 8 – this isn’t only me saying but the entire internet. The fans – including me have totally lost it since Game of Thrones released an extended version of the Super Bowl teaser featuring Drogon and the Mountain. Let’s discuss this in detail.
The ad reminds you of the jousting that took place to welcome Ned Stark in the capital, back in Season 1 or the Hand’s Tourney as the Westerosis called it. During this jousting, however, the Mountain defeats the defender of the Bud Light “Dilly Dilly” kingdom.
Moreover, we get a similar ‘skull-crushing’ action of Ser Gregor and find a guy from the audience yelling in shock instead of Ellaria Sand.
This is followed by Drogon flying over the entire scene, only to burn down the tournament to ashes and terrified audience running here-and-there to save them. According to the top Game of Thrones source – James Hibberd from Entertainment Weekly,
“The ad reunited more than 25 people from the Game of Thrones crew and was directed by David Nutter, who helms multiple episodes in the show’s final season and directed several previous episodes of the series. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were also involved.”
Later, HBO Marketing Chief Chris Spadaccini revealed that they demanded that the Bud Knight died during the commercial. Spadaccini said, “The Bud Knight had to die.”
Bud Light also shared a tribute on Twitter, with the hashtag #RememberBudKnight.

Game of Thrones – promoted via Budweiser’s Super Bowl 2019 ad! Some fans have totally lost it as they believe something’s totally brewing up inside – the official trailer, a poster, or footage like the last season. While this might be entirely mere speculation of the fans yet Game of Thrones in collaboration with Budweiser has been able to bring in the attention of the fans that ‘Winter is Coming’!
