Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is one of the highest priority projects at HBO currently. Fans of the GOTverse all around the world are desperately waiting for the announcement of a release date and the first full trailer. It seems like that might not be too far, as the prequel show has officially wrapped up filming Season 1. Despite the imminent threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, House of The Dragon has finished production, and HBO chief Casey Bloys seems quite relieved.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Bloys explained why there’s no full trailer or a release date as of yet, “One of the reasons why we’re trying to be cautious about it is when you’re shooting a show that big during a pandemic, especially with the last round [with] a lot of crew and cast members… you didn’t know who was going to drop out or if we’re going to have to shut down so we just didn’t want to declare a date and then find ourselves shut down.”
“Now that we are out of production, I think that we will talk to their guys and figure out what we want to do in terms of announcing a date. But I was just trying to make sure that we didn’t come out with a date that we couldn’t meet for something that was out of our control.”
A few days ago several of the cast and crew members were bidding farewell to the set on social media, so the suspicions have come true. House of The Dragon has finished filming season 1, and a trailer might be on the way very soon.
