Game of Thrones Season 7 ended on a high note, with the wall falling and all, but for some of us, that wasn’t the biggest thing that the season ended with. The real winner was Jaime Lannister finally leaving Cersei. After all the loyalty we have seen him shower towards her, she finally managed to break his belief in her, and at the end of Season 7 we saw him leave King’s Landing. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau recently talked to Mashable about the plot point. Read on!
Speaking of the scene, Nikolaj said :
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. I think that he’s seen her do crazy things before, but this is lying to everyone, and lying to him. You’ve got to go, ‘How much can this guy take before it becomes too much?’ It was a great scene to shoot.”
Jaime has been seen questioning his loyalty to Cersei all season, with so many decisions that had been having him see her in a different light, and at one point, he just hit the ‘f*uck it’ moment, according to Nikolaj :
“That was it. That was the moment. She’s so cynical on a level that he doesn’t understand. You don’t give your word in front of the whole world and then just f**k ‘em. That’s too far. The fact is, yes there’s always been a lot of deceit, but Jaime is actually pretty straightforward when it comes to ‘walking the walk’ and all that. He’s thinking, ‘You commit to something, and you’ve just seen this thing is real, what the hell…?’ She takes it to a place that he can’t follow her to.”
As of now, we do not know where Jaime is headed, but with all that firepower and the will to fight the Army of the Dead, Daenerys Targaryen seems like his best shot. It also has his brotherTyrion Lannister, and Brienne of Tarth, so why not? Where do you think Jaime will go? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
