Game of Thrones is a cash cow for HBO and they should not stop milking it this soon. The Harry Potter franchise is still alive, so why can’t Game of Thrones continue? That’s exactly why HBO has a bunch of prequel series in development, but obviously, none of the main cast will appear in it. Kit Harington, who plays the titular character Jon Snow on the show, being born of Fire and Ice, says we will not be seeing him in a prequel series. Read on!
Kit Recently appeared on the Italian edition of GQ mag, where he talked about Game of Thrones and life after it, reports ET Canada. Speaking of the prequels, he said:
“I think there’s going to be spinoffs, but I’m not going to be involved in any of it.
The great thing about ‘Thrones’ for HBO is that you can sell it in a totally different way. You could set it 300 years earlier and save a load of money because we [the cast] are very expensive now.”
He spoke about how at first he didn’t understand the premise of the show, but decided to do it because it was HBO:
“It was HBO, and that’s all that really mattered to me. It was, and is, a staple of quality. But the script? I didn’t really understand it. I read it twice and thought, This is the most bizarre thing ever. I don’t quite get why they’re doing it, but I’m in. I do remember reading my role and thinking, This is in my locker – I can do this. Grumpy. Quiet. Solid. That’s fine. I can do that.”
Kit describes Season 2 as the best one for him, because that’s when it was clear that the show would be a hit, and he had met Rose Leslie, his wife-to-be, who played the role of Ygritte on the show:
“That season was the most significant for me because we realized it was a show that was successful, we were suddenly in this incredible location – and I was with the girl that I fell in love with.”
While the end has been freaking him out, Kit says he’s glad he’ll have the choice to pursue other things:
“I suddenly realized that next year I can do two films and a play. Or I could do another show which I’ve never been able to do since being on ‘Thrones’. And… I could take two months off and spend them with Rose! We can go off somewhere! I suddenly got really excited about it. I’ve always wanted to do a boxing movie. But before I get too old!”
Well, we’re sure we’ll love whatever Kit does next. What about you? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
