Game of Thrones Season 7 is less than three weeks away, and the anticipation is at an all time high. The cast members are giving out interviews as the days lead up to the big premiere, and the latest one is a join interview with Aiden Gillen, who plays the role of Petyr Baelish, a.k.a. Littlefinger, and Issac Hempstead-Wright, who plays the role of Bran Stark. The pair were recently interviewed by the German news portal Bild, and they talked about their Game of Thrones auditions, and spin-offs. The video is in German and the guys at Winter is Coming managed to translate parts of the video. Read on!
The whole interview is in German. Issac Hempstead-Wright was almost fluent, having learnt some German in school, he explained. Aiden Gillen couldn’t quite match him, and admitted that his German wasn’t as good. Watch the full video, here.
Issac first talked about how he ended up on the show. He said (translated) :
“I’ve never really acted before! I was ten years old and a hobby actor. The preparations were going on and Game of Thrones was a fairly unknown pilot. I went to the casting and after three rounds I did not think about it anymore. “
He continued :
“I had already forgotten. I was just ten, I came home one day, and I was just cheerfully walking through the house and then I see my mother standing with a note in her hand that said, ‘Congratulations Brandon Stark’. I read it, and thought, ‘Oh, that’s cool’. “
Aiden reacted to this with his own audition story :
“Really cool. And a bit more interesting than my story. It was different with me. I have been am actor since I was 17 years old. I absolutely wanted the role. At the time I was in London for a few days. Then came the confirmation. I was quite happy! “
Aiden also said that he didn’t really read all the fan theories and opinions, like he used to, at the beginning of the show. Talking of spin-offs, Issac wants a Hodor spin-off, while Aiden said that he would love to see the origins of Littlefinger, dubbing it Babyfinger.
