Game of Thrones Season 8 has been filming for a while now, and from what we know, it seems like it will be going on for a quite a while more. Today we have another big update on the filming, with two major casting related bits. Let’s get into it!
Starting off, let us remind you about an old casting news that you might have missed. Two actresses were confirmed to be starring in Season 8 of Game of Thrones, namely Danielle Galligan and Emer McDaid. They then posted a picture on Instagram with another actress: Alice Nokes. However, we didn’t know if Nokes would be starring on the show, until now. Her agency CV now reads to confirm that she will appear in Season 8, as a character named “Willa.” She will star in an episode directed by David Nutter episode this season, which means one of episode 1, 2, or 4.
We do not know of any Willa that exists in the ASOIAF universe that could have an appropriate opening to appear in Season 8. “Wylla” gets close but it seems like it is likely that this is a new character, written for the show.
Moving on, there is a new casting notice. Watchers on the Wall reports that the show is casting the role of a Military Guard. Aged 25-35, no ethnicity specified, and is supposed to be a one day filming part, with filming set in Northern Ireland, on March 2nd. The description calls for “fit and agile excellent actor with a good distinctive face,” and looks like “he can handle himself in a fight.” So looks like this is set to be a small but memorable part.
More on that as it develops. What do you think about the new actress and the new character casting? Any speculations? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
