Game of Thrones Season 8 has been filming for a long time, and we have been bringing you the latest updates. While a lot of set shuffling has been the major news of late, we now have a casting update, which are rare these days. Actor Frank Blake has joined the cast of Game of Thrones Season 8. Read on!
The news comes from a report by Game of Thrones fan-site Watchers on the Wall. Frank Blake has been cast in the role of a “Northern sentry.” Blake is an Irish actor who is known for a recurring role on Netflix’s The Frankenstein Chronicles, which also stars former Game of Thrones actor Sean Bean. His agency CV now reflects his role on Game of Thrones.
The Northern sentry role was revealed in a casting notice a few months ago, in September, which we had reported about. Here’s how the role is described:
“Northern sentry, aged 18 – 25. The description speaks of “a characterful young Northern actor with great timing,” and he will share a scene with the leads, as well. The character will film in the first week of December.”
Since the filming was scheduled for December, it looks like Blake has already finished filming. The character required great timing, which means we will see some banter with lead cast members, making this character one that we’ll remember.
This might be one of the last casting related updates that we bring you, since the production is pretty further into filming of Season 8. What do you think about Blake in this role? Excited to see him? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
