Game of Thrones is a complex show with multiple storylines that it weaves together beautifully. However, with the scale of storytelling that the show aims to do, especially with the last season, there’s no time to tie up the loose ends of characters that are not as important to the central storyline. One such characters is Edmure Tully, played by Tobias Menzies. In a recent interview, Menzies said that he’s not sure about his character being back for Season 8. Read on!
Speaking to DigitalSpy, Tobias talked about Edmure. Edmure was a prisoner of the Freys the last we saw him, but Arya Stark pretty much wiped that house out in Season 7, which leaves us with the burning question: What about Edmure? Tobias thinks the show won’t have any time for him:
“The honest answer is, I have no idea. He’s obviously somewhere in a prison, he’s still around alive somewhere. They’re pretty stingy with their information and I’ve not heard anything from them.
I feel like they have so many stories to tie up, whether that’s a story they’ll want to go back to, I don’t know.”
Now, Season 8 filming is halfway done, so there’s very little chance that Tobias will get a call now. Either that, or he’s lying to us. A few weeks ago, Ellie Kendrick, who played Meera Reed also gave a similar reply, that she has not been contacted by HBO about Season 8. Maybe we won’t get the answers to all the questions. Maybe these questions won’t be as important given the gravity of what happens in Season 8.
What do you think? We can’t wait to see what HBO has in store for us, but we would like to see as many loose ends tied up as possible. What about you? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
