The title for Game of Thrones season 7 finale has been finally released and it has already excited me because we might get to see an exciting flashback in the upcoming episode. The title of the episode has been released by Sky Atlantic, which airs Game of Thrones in the UK.
According to Sky Atlantic, the name for Game of Thrones season 7 finale will be, “The Dragon and the Wolf“! The title might sound straightforward, like the titles for the previous two episodes, Beyond the Wall and Eastwatch, but it might mean something else. We know that Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen are together and we have seen both of them getting attracted towards each other. However, we should remember that Jon Snow is a Targaryen and not a Stark.
So, the title, The Dragon and the Wolf won’t be applicable to Jon and Daenerys and that gives us hope that we might get to see Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark in the upcoming episode. Throughout the season, the show has been giving us hints about Jon Snow being a Targaryen and even in the latest episode, Beric Dondarrion tells Jon Snow that he doesn’t look like his father, which is another hint at Jon being a Targaryen.
We even got a confirmation that Jon isn’t a bastard as Gilly revealed that Rhaegar Targaryen had annulled his marriage and married another woman at the same time in a ceremony in Dorne. This indicates that he married Lyanna Stark, who gave birth to Jon in the Tower of Joy, which was located in Dorne.
Looking at all these bits of information that the show has revealed since season 6 finale, it appears that we will get to see a detailed flashback that finally introduces Rhaegar Targaryen and his relationship with Lyanna in one of Bran Stark’s visions.
Take a look at the preview for Game of Thrones season 7 finale.
