Game of Thrones has had an amazing cast over the last six seasons, and not just actors, but a lot of cameo appearances, from famous people from different fields, mostly musicians. Game of Thrones Season 7 is set to have its share of cameos, apparently by the rock band Bastille, and New York Mets pitcher Noah Snydergaard. Now, we have confirmation about yet another cameo appearance, and this time by musician Ed Sheeran!
We have been hearing about Ed Sheeran mixing up with Game of Thrones stars for a while now, and we have been wondering the whole time whether he will show up on the show. At the South by Southwest Festival where showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss were speaking on the Game of Thrones panel moderated by Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), they revealed that Ed Sheeran will be making a cameo appearance in Season 7 of Game of Thrones. They also said that they had been trying to book him for quite a while.
Ed then went on to confirm the news on Twitter :

Ed had recently talked about how the cast of Game of Thrones had crashed his private pub. Kit Harington, Alfie Allen, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner were a part of this apparent ‘crashing. We wonder what role Ed will be playing on the show. Maybe just an extra in that much-spoiled scene which will star many major stars from the show? Or maybe a White Walker? Wishful thinking.
Previous musicians to have made cameo appearances on the show include Coldplay, Mastodon, Of Monsters and Men, and Sigur Ros. Season 7 will premiere July 16th. In the meantime, Ed Sheeran is enjoying the success of his new album, Divide, which is breaking all records, to say the least.
